What does your day look like?
As a Service Engineer you board ships. These can be inland, seagoing, offshore or fishing vessels. The captain or shipping company has reported a malfunction to our navigation or communication equipment and you go for it. You drive to the customer in your company car and discuss his report with him. Then you go to work to find and fix the malfunction. You are happy to take on that challenge because you are the boss of the malfunction report. With your creativity you ensure that the problem is solved quickly. Of course you will be well trained first. When you are done with your job, you discuss with your client what you have done. Is your customer satisfied? Then you are also satisfied!

What are you going to do?

• Perform maintenance on navigation/communication equipment
• Troubleshooting
• Commissioning of the equipment on board

It can happen that your schedule for the day is empty in the morning. Then you go to work in the workshop. But it can happen that your schedule fills up with challenging jobs. On a quiet day, you can go home a little earlier. It also happens that you are not ready at 5 p.m. and then you are so flexible to finish the job. Because we serve our customers worldwide, you can, if you wish, sometimes work abroad for short periods when our customers' ships are there, from Africa to Spitsbergen.
During your training period, you will first work with an experienced colleague and go to ships. Once you can get by with your knowledge, you will also be deployed in the breakdown service. On average you will be scheduled for this 1 week every 6 weeks. Of course you will receive a fee for this.

What characterizes you?
Perhaps obvious, but an interest in shipping comes in handy here! Just like your attention to quality, proactivity and thinking in solutions. Here's what else we think you could use to make this feature a success:

• Completed MBO course in electrical engineering, level 3 / 4
• VCA diploma (or willing to obtain)
• Initiative
• Customer oriented
• Clear communication in Dutch and English language
• Flexible and willing to travel and work outside office hours
• Stress resistant
• Living in the vicinity of Rotterdam or Middelburg or IJmuiden
• Driving License B
• You are allowed to work in the Netherlands
