Installation Engineer - Inland Shipping
Are you a recent graduate or do you have a few years of work experience looking to further develop your skills in the field of maritime electronics? Then come aboard at Alphatron Marine!
We are looking for an enthusiastic and driven
Installation Engineer – Inland Shipping
A problem-solving, customer-oriented, and proactive technician.
What does your day look like?
As an Installation Engineer, you will work on inland waterway and passenger vessels. Our sales department has sold a complete new build package or refit, and you will be the first from Alphatron to go on board. You drive your company vehicle to the ship and start installing the equipment. You will be on board for several days to ensure that everything is connected correctly and, sometimes, to commission it. You are eager to take on this challenge because you like to see progress in your work. Is your customer satisfied? Then you are satisfied too!
New ships are delivered throughout the year. As a result, you may be scheduled on various vessels, such as passenger ships, inland waterway vessels, as well as Police or Rijkswaterstaat vessels. Because these ships are being completed at various locations, you may also travel abroad for an installation. It is possible that many ships are being completed simultaneously. In that case, you have a busy week ahead of you where you need to be able to switch gears quickly. In the summer, the schedule is sometimes a bit quieter. Then you will get to work in the workshop to make preparations for upcoming projects. On a quiet day, you can go home a bit earlier. It also happens that you are not finished by 5:00 PM, and then you are flexible enough to finish the job. During your induction period, you will first work alongside an experienced colleague and visit ships.
What characterizes you?
It is nice if you already have experience as an Installation Engineer, but that is not strictly necessary. You can learn the trade with us. You learn something new every day. We provide good guidance so that you can develop into a true professional!
