IT Solutions Engineer – Maritime

What will you be doing?
As an IT Solutions Engineer, you are the specialist behind the IT and AV solutions on board ships. You work on new and existing customer environments, building complete systems: from networks, WiFi, and CCTV to IPTV, all connected to satellite and mobile internet connections.

• You design and build network solutions – from a simple USG to advanced SD-WAN firewalls.
  You are involved from the first customer contact to the delivery of the system, including pre-sales advice and technical implementation.
• You will also go on board yourself to commission systems – both domestically and abroad.
  The base is our office in Rotterdam, but you are also willing to travel occasionally.

Your work is varied, independent, and technically challenging. And your expertise is indispensable: you actively contribute to standardizing our custom ITAV solutions.

What will you be doing in brief?

• Designing, building, and implementing ITAV projects
• Proactively managing client environments
• Advising clients and colleagues on technical issues
• Acting as a 3rd line support engineer
• Commissioning on-board systems
• Contributing to the standardization of our solutions
• Participating in the 24/7 on-call service (approximately once every 6 weeks)

What do you bring?

• Higher professional education (HBO) working and thinking level (or MBO+ with relevant experience)
• Thorough knowledge of IT networks, including VLANs, routing, multicast, and spanning-tree
• Experience with IT and AV systems
• You understand technical systems and know how they add value for clients
• You speak and write excellent Dutch and English
• Driving license B and willingness to travel
• Knowledge of Juniper products is required
• Cisco certification, experience with TVRO/VSAT or Crestron? That is a nice bonus! Affinity with shipping is a must
